Time to Fight Back Against Political Bullies Blocking Immigration Reform

Rep. Luis Gutierrez (D-Ill.), he is entitled on immigration reform. Obama is right only half.

They agree that it is time to return the script on the opponents of the Congress of legislation to modernize the national system of immigration has failed. The current system amounts to a set of stupid laws that makes it almost impossible to get people the brightest and most talented people in the country, and punishes employers and workers who need to fill the nation for low-wage workers.

But so far, only Gutierrez has a plan for how to get up and call the bluff of the political bullies blocking immigration reform.

Gutierrez urged Obama to sign an executive order halting the deportation of all illegal immigrants who are college age. With this first step, the president may change the political dynamics and the strength to stop their big mouths fear-mongering and take seriously the reform.

For years, extremist right-wing and bellicose talk show hosts have made it impossible to deal rationally with immigration. The central fact is that there are approximately 12 million illegal immigrants in the country that are going nowhere. The U.S. government lacks the manpower, handcuffs or buses to send these illegal immigrants back to Mexico, Ireland and China.

The most crucial is that the American people want immigration reform, according to a poll after poll. A Pew poll in March 1972 per cent want a law that defines terms for illegal immigrants to obtain citizenship. They want people who currently live in the limbo of illegal immigration for a chance to become tax-paying, law-abiding citizens. In a nation of immigrants, the American people want border security, but above all they want to end the waste of time and money that comes with the treatment of working people seeking the American dream as criminals.

But the small number of Americans who want to voice intensely expel all illegal immigrants have distorted the political market and drowned the people's will. They still scare all the conservatives on Capitol Hill with a tired argument but paralyzing.

They repeat again and again, while keeping their fingers in their ears, that any reform of immigration law recognize individuals who have committed a crime to get here or stay here by giving them "amnesty." They ignore the reality that not to reform the law that we allow a faulty mass culture to stay in place.

Recently, these opponents of reform say Republicans to oppose any law just because Obama wants to consolidate his political base with Hispanic voters. If that is the problem, why the same angry mob to stop the efforts of President Bush's immigration reform?

Hispanic-Americans.com : RPM Miami: Street Racing Telenovela Takes ...

After watching Miami RPM last night we're not sure what to think. We know that the show is sausage fest fuel testosterone Mun2, which promotes women as immoral, materialistic whores, but ... it is always fun to watch.

The show - think the Fast and the Furious telenovela shooting style - revolves around a group of 305-ers who are involved in street racing - an inadvertently.

The melodrama begins when the fun hello Alejandro, played by actor Adrian Bellani Salvadoran, an Army Ranger who is back from Iraq, returns to Miami for the war to find his father disappeared, his mother's dismay, and his little sister a prostitute it up. Of course, no good male Latino put up with this sort Alejandro joins the search for truth, fix things, avenge his father, oh - you know the rest.

Last night was only the third episode, but the Latin writers are lazy, and so true telenovela, started the drama into high gear.Alejandro, always in search of his father, meeting with Emilio, a co-worker of his father. Emilio acts as a paranoid meth addict, speaks in a strange code and saying things like, "roses are wilted." Emilio is murdered just before he passes this information on William Burroughs-esque during a telephone conversation with Alejandro. In this single sentence and absurd, Alejandro deduced that something is buried under a rose bush on the basis of the apartment complex guy. Like all telenovelas true, despite all the murders, thefts, false arrests, and evil twins, the main concern is love. And this week, the romantic tension between Alejandro and Luisa (the widow of his best friend Alejandro who died in Iraq) have risen to new levels. Some people might think it's dirty to get to work with your friend's friend died, but hey - all is fair in love and war, right? Meanwhile, the lady detective shadowed by the minute. It is possible it could be in cahoots with El Guajo, the guy who owns "the south side." El Guajo was the main villain in the series so far, but we think this is changing. There were many allusions in this episode to make us believe that El Guajo is a pretty nice guy compared to some of the other garbage going around. Speaking of scum, RPM a lot.
